National Flu Immunisation Programme 2026 to 2027

 

Flu vaccination helps protect you and those around you from influenza, which can be a serious illness, particularly for people at higher risk.

 

Who should have the flu vaccination?

Our practice will offer flu vaccinations to eligible patients

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are aged 65 or over
  • Are aged 18 to 64 and have a qualifying health condition
  • Are a carer, receiving Carer's Allowance or the main carer for an elderly or disabled person
  • Are a frontline healthcare worker
  • Are a close contact of someone who is immunocompromised
  • Are a child or young person aged 6 months to 17 years in a clinical risk group
  • Pregnant women
  • Children aged 2 or 3 years on 31st August 2026
 

Primary school-aged children

  • Primary school-aged children should receive their flu vaccination at school or at a school catch-up clinic.
  • If your child misses their school vaccination, please follow the arrangements provided by the school or local vaccination service.
 

Home flu vaccinations

We are working with community pharmacy to provide visits for housebound patients. Eligible patients will be allocated a date and time for their vaccination. Further information will be provided to eligible housebound patients.
